A criminal investigation is underway into an accident that occurred in Pattada a few days ago, an episode that had very serious consequences. A 14-year-old boy was riding his horse through one of the town's streets when , for reasons currently under investigation , a van struck the animal, causing the teenager to fall to the pavement.
The young jockey was treated by emergency personnel; his condition immediately appeared serious due to head and facial trauma. The accident victim was urgently transferred to Sassari Civil Hospital and is now in the Neurosurgery Unit. His life is not in danger; specialists at the Sassari hospital performed a very delicate surgical procedure that was a complete success.
After the accident the horse died, tragedy within a tragedy: the boy was very fond of it.
The Carabinieri are investigating the cause of the accident. A man from Buddusò is under investigation. The family of the young patient admitted to the Neurosurgery Unit, assisted by lawyer Pietro Maria Sini, is following the investigation.
