Drunk behind the wheel causes an accident and is reported by the police.

It happened last night, around 11.20pm, along the provincial road ex 131, in the Li Lioni area of Porto Torres . A man driving a black Atos, impaired and in a condition unfit to drive, while traveling along the road , hit the vehicle in front of him, a Mercedes with a husband and wife on board, both from Porto Torres, who were visibly frightened.

The spouses, both injured, after the initial treatment by the 118 health workers, were transferred in code yellow aboard the Soccorso Sardo ambulance to the Santissima Annunziata emergency room for checks. According to initial reconstructions, the Mercedes had just emerged from the Li Lioni restaurant, to enter the provincial road ex 131, when the Atos, driven by a 40-year-old local man who was proceeding in the direction of Sassari, caused the rear-end collision. A scene of panic presented itself to the rescuers.

The driver with clear symptoms of alcohol abuse went into a rage. Two carabinieri patrols from Sennori intervened on site and subjected the 40-year-old to a breathalyzer test, showing a value four times over the limit . Once identified, the man was charged with driving under the influence. He risks having his license withdrawn. The firefighters of the local detachment also intervened in the emergency to make the road safe.
