The Municipality of Palmas Arborea, during the last meeting of the Municipal Council, decided to establish on an experimental basis a weekly market in the town centre. The duration of the initiative should be for a period of one quarter, from July to September. The administration's intention is to locate the market in the center of the town, in order to increase the commercial offer in the city area.

«Some companies that do itinerant trade come to Palmas Arborea – comments the mayor Emanuele Cadoni – and have asked us for the possibility of holding a weekly market. In this regard, it seemed useful to us to identify an area." A small market that aims to revitalize the commercial offer of the area and increase local demand.

The spaces that will host the traders will be the space between Piazza Sant'Antioco and Via Pauli Majori, with a limited number of stalls (9 stalls in total) and the possibility of participating once a week, on Wednesday morning, from 8.30 to 13.30. «As an administration – concludes Cadoni – we see this initiative as a new service to the population, with particular reference to people who for one reason or another have little possibility of moving outside the country».
