Two other officers attacked in Bancali and taken to hospital.

Yet another episode of violence occurred this morning in the Sassari prison when a prisoner belonging to the AS2 section, that of Islamic terrorists, initially refused to return to his cell, and despite having obtained an interview with the cultural mediator, he threatened the policemen to death by claiming that he would carry out an attack against them. To then suddenly hit them with kicks and punches, attacking two officers in particular, before he was taken back to the cell.

The representatives of the penitentiary police were taken to the emergency room due to the bruises and swellings reported in the clash.

The general secretary of Uil Pa, Michele Cireddu, broke the news of the matter by stating: «If we continue at this rate there will be no one left to guarantee safety in the Institute, the Department must strike before huge tragedies occur! It seems that today the Minister of Justice has signed the ministerial decree for the establishment of intervention groups, a specialty that we have been asking for for several years and it seems that it may finally be possible!».

Cireddu adds: «The Sassari prison is experiencing an emergency situation that it has never experienced since its opening, the situation is literally collapsing and if immediate action is not taken and if this escalation of violence continues, we risk no longer being able to guarantee control of the Institute".
