Politics, but not only. Palazzo Bacaredda once again confirms its role as a hub of culture, sport, and art, promoting initiatives that strengthen the values of inclusion and recognition of merit. And on the afternoon of this Thursday, September 18, the monumental building at Via Roma 145 hosted the awards ceremony for two female student teams, who excelled at the 2025 National Student Championships, in the Scacchiscuola tournament, taking first and third place, respectively.
The Don Bosco Salesian Institute Middle School team took the top spot on the podium. Meanwhile, the Alfieri Middle School team, part of the G. Lilliu Comprehensive Institute, placed third, confirming the talent and commitment of the young athletes.
The event was attended by institutional representatives and prominent figures from the academic and cultural worlds. Marco Benucci, President of the Cagliari City Council, and Giulia Andreozzi, Councilor for Education, Study Support, and Knowledge, presented the young champions with the certificates of recognition. "A symbol of merit, they enhance Cagliari," they remarked.
The event was a moment of celebration and reflection, both on the role of schools and institutions in fostering an inclusive environment, where merit is rewarded and younger generations are encouraged to express their talent.
For the young champions, the ceremony concluded with a guided tour of the state rooms of Palazzo Bacaredda, appreciating the works of Sardinian artists, including Filippo Figari, Felice Melis Marini, Francesco Ciusa, Mario Delitala, Antonio Ghisu, and Andrea Valli.
