A harsh criticism on the "environment" discourse is leveled at the Manna Administration by the opposition group "Palau Avanti", in the first statement after the "detachment" from the group leader, Fabrizio Calandruccio. Meanwhile, the Group writes, for having suppressed the Department of the Environment, "highlighting the lack of political attention towards these issues". An Administration that believes in environmental sustainability, write Mario Tamponi, Luca Fresu and Davide Pirredda, «makes the best use of the professionalism available», later criticizing it for not having provided the country «with a planning tool such as, for example, the environmental management which becomes an interdisciplinary element, supporting and integrating all other management and territorial planning tools".

An administration that believes in environmental sustainability, continue the three councilors, «places at the center of its action the protection of the most fragile natural resources subject to greater anthropic pressure, for example beaches and dune systems, also encouraging collaboration with universities or research bodies (with which it has signed agreements) that monitor the evolutionary state of these fragile ecosystems by proposing possible conservation and mitigation interventions so that they remain available to future generations (to whom the administration today claims to teach and instil sensitivity) and represent the real, concrete basis and not based on generic bibliographic notions for the development of the coastal use plan as an integral part of the PUC (!?)".

Tamponi, Fresu and Pirredda then talk about "energy problems" and the need to put in place "a specific management plan that organically places concrete actions with the aim of containing the use of fossil fuels and providing for their replacement with renewables", of the need for "planting new trees", of "water saving", of "incentive for differentiation and reduction of waste production (however, they have increased the TARI a little at a time, so they hope that no one notices it )". The observations of "Palau Avanti" are inspired by a recent ecological operation, organized by a committee and which saw the participation of many young people.
