The man accused of having intentionally run over a 31-year-old man from Padru inside the eco-centre on the morning of January 2nd was arrested by the Carabinieri in Orune .

The arrested man, 24-year-old Giangaspare Degogliu, was placed under house arrest by order of the investigating judge of the Sassari Court on charges of grievous bodily harm.

The order came after a thorough investigation conducted by Padru's Carabinieri following what, from the outset and as witnessed by several witnesses, appeared to be a deliberate act, sparked by a trivial argument that resulted in the car being hit. The car was driven by the victim's ex-girlfriend's new partner.

The 31-year-old was immediately rescued and transported by helicopter to the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Olbia, where he was admitted with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries to his chest and abdomen.

Degogliu will be questioned by the Sassari investigating judge on January 21, assisted by his lawyers Margherita Baragliu and Gianluca Sannio.
