"He will remain a firefighter forever. No one dies on earth as long as they live in the hearts of those left behind." Anger and grief for Luigi Sechi, a firefighter originally from Ozieri who passed away at just 50 years old from a sudden heart attack. His sudden death leaves his fellow firefighters from the Sassari command and nearby detachments in disbelief. An avid cyclist and sports lover, he will be remembered by those who supported him in his profession and by those who were close to him throughout his life. "He leaves an unfillable void in all of us who knew and associated with him," are the words of the Asd Sardegna Sport & Natura. "You stood up on your pedals and ran away, without even giving us time to say goodbye." The parish of Santa Lucia in Ozieri also expresses grief for the sudden passing of Luigi Sechi: "At this time, the parish community gathers with affection and prayers around Chiara, his children and parents, his mother-in-law, and all his family."
