A mural commemorates the two Carabinieri, Walter Frau and Ciriaco Carru, killed on the afternoon of August 16, 1995, in Chilivani, during a firefight with a gang of criminals. The artwork was created to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the massacre, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, at 9:15 a.m. in Pes'e Semene, a symbolic site of the tragic event in the municipality of Ozieri. A bouquet of flowers will be laid at the memorials of the two military heroes, servants of the state, both recipients of the Medal of Military Valor.

At 10:00 a.m., Holy Mass will be celebrated in the Basilica of Sant'Antioco in Bisarcio, officiated by Monsignor Corrado Melis, Bishop of Ozieri. The ceremony will be held in the presence of military, religious, and civil authorities, and with the participation of the victims' families.

The heroic action of the Carabinieri, Walter Frau, 29 years old , originally from Ossi but resident in Porto Torres and Ciriaco Carru, thirty-two years old from Bitti , prevented the bandits from carrying out their plan which included the assault on an armored van.
