An alleged hate campaign against the Carabinieri and against certain members of the military in particular, identified by name and surname, who were threatened and insulted on several occasions.

These are the new facts of the investigation opened by the Sassari Prosecutor's Office against Antonio Maria Pani, 64, the pensioner who last May is alleged to have set a trap in a building in Ozieri using two gas cylinders connected to a ventilation system.

Pani is under investigation for the crime of massacre. According to the Sassari Prosecutor's Office, he lured the Carabinieri by claiming he had killed his wife, a claim that, fortunately, is completely unfounded. According to the documents, he was ready to blow up the gas-filled room . The pensioner did not detonate the device, but was able to do so with a device he had on hand.

The investigations are revealing an alarming picture: Pani allegedly demonstrated his hostility toward the Carabinieri with other behaviors, all of which are now the subject of the same investigation. Antonio Maria Pani himself was convicted of damaging the plaque commemorating the sacrifice of Walter Frau, the soldier killed at Ped'e Semene in 1995. Pani has also already been convicted, with a final sentence, of stalking his wife.
