In Sardinia, 1,047 cars and more than 340 motorcycles and scooters were stolen in one year, representing over 1,300 vehicles stolen in just 12 months. The data comes from an analysis conducted by Facile.it of statistics released by the Ministry of the Interior – Department of Public Security.

Limiting the analysis to car thefts only, the province of Cagliari comes in first place, with 735 reported thefts, followed – at a great distance – by Sassari (203). Nuoro , with 93 thefts, and Oristano , where “just” 15 cars were stolen in one year, close the regional ranking.

If we limit the analysis to motorcycles, the first two positions do not change: Cagliari is once again in first place with 166 thefts, followed by Sassari (64). Even looking at mopeds, the areas with the most reported thefts are the same but in reverse position: Sassari is in the lead (48), followed by Cagliari (44).
