A sold-out Tuesday for the Ottana and Mamoiada identity parades, where, thanks to the end of the heavy rains, hundreds participated in the scheduled events.

The real protagonists are the very young members of the Mamuthones and Issohadores and Boes and Merdules groups who, supported by the adults of the historic groups, continue the common thread between identity and tradition.

In Ottana , starting in the late afternoon, the event entirely dedicated to the new members of "Pitzinnos Caratzaos," now in its second year, featured performances by the hosts, including their peers from Su Bundhu di Orani, Is Cerbus (Sinnai), and then the Samughian Mamuthones, followed by S'Urtzu and Sos Bardianos (Ula Tirso), Sos Corriolos (Neoneli), and finally Is Scruzzonis of Siurgus Donigala. Simultaneously, the show Ballos Cantaos, presented by Giuliano Marongiu, featured on stage with music by Maria Antonietta Bosu, Davide Puligheddu, Lorenzo Chessa, and Luca Schirru.

And while local institutions, Proloco organizers, and masked groups are smiling at yet another success after last Sunday's opening night, Mamoiada is also recording similar numbers. Here, tourists are treated to a double-faced spectacle, welcomed by the "Historic Carnival 2026," with the parade of Mamuthones and Issohadores, both adults and children, through the cobbled streets, followed by the allegorical floats. As evening falls, tastings of broad beans with lard are offered, followed by the eagerly awaited performance of the "Juvanne Martis Sero" group before the music in the square.

Meanwhile , preparations are already underway for Saturday's Pentolacce : in Ottana, the event begins at 3 pm in Piazza San Nicola, a long day of stops at the Museum of Arts and Traditions and a dance evening organized by the San Nicola Committee (at 11 pm). In Mamoiada, a piñata on horseback, promoted by the Equestrian Sports group (starting at 4 pm), will be followed by music in the bars and the final Carnival party in Piazza Santa Croce (starting at 10 pm).
