Oschiri, drug checks at school: the German shepherd "Black" is also in action

Also in the field are dog units with the German shepherd "Black", a dog with very fine olfactory abilities and capable of intercepting even very small quantities of those prohibited substances which unfortunately are   often used by younger people.

The checks involved almost all the classes : the animal diligently walked the long corridors and other rooms, smelling the air and searching among the desks and school bags, looking for those substances which are often also found in the rooms. schools; on some occasions, the German shepherd lingered longer than necessary having perceived a trace of that typical smell that distinguishes hemp derivatives - marijuana and hashish - but then immediately resumed his search.

The preventive activity , the Carabinieri explain, was developed in agreement with the school authorities and is an integral part of the broader "Culture of Legality" program which is now presented, almost annually, by the soldiers of the Carabinieri in all schools of every order and rank; as proof of this, this year too, in the Monteacuto region, all the Commanders of the Carabinieri Stations have proposed topics of great relevance and full interest for students of all age groups: bullying, safety on the roads, the conscious use of social networks, the plague of forest fires, the abuse of alcoholic beverages and, indeed, the consumption of narcotic substances.

In the next few days and in any case until the end of the school year, the soldiers - both in the preventive services in uniform and those in plain clothes - will continue with their control activities of the school buildings , carrying out various checks without any warning, but always to maximum protection of student health.
