He threatened his former employer with a large claw hammer , demanding advance payment of the July salary. When he refused, he attacked the former employer's car, damaging it. The incident occurred in Oschiri , late in the afternoon of Monday, June 15, when Carabinieri officers from the Ozieri Company's Mobile Radio Unit responded to a 112 emergency call.

According to the reconstruction, the man showed up at his employer's home in a clearly altered state of mind and body , possibly due to alcohol abuse . Upon his arrival, he forced the employer and several workers to take refuge inside the home. At this point, the threats and demands apparently began, but to no avail. When the police arrived, the former employee was subdued and disarmed. This did not stop the man, who continued to rant against the employer.

Subsequent investigations revealed previous incidents against the employer. On several occasions, the man had shown up at the company's construction sites while intoxicated and had threatened his employer to obtain an advance on his salary. This had led the victim to terminate the employment relationship and file two complaints for threats and criminal damage. The man was arrested.
