A passion for literature tinged with crime and noir, featuring three esteemed writers from the island's cultural world: the " Ombre " series, a series making its debut in Orosei at the Sa Finanza Vetza municipal library , continues until November 11th . The three-part series, scheduled for 6:30 pm and free of charge , will feature writers Piergiorgio Pulixi and Flavio Soriga , along with councilor Maria Francesca Chiappe .

An initiative whose name comes from what crime and noir literature allows us to observe beyond the investigation, combining the desire for a solution with doubts and questions about the characters , their choices and the obscure reasons that drive them: it is being created by the Jane Austen Club of Sardinia , with the support of the Municipality and Library of Orosei and in collaboration with the Cooperativa per i Servizi Bibliotecari , the Sebastiano Satta Library System and the Mondadori Voltapagina bookshop .

We begin today with our first guest, Piergiorgio Pulixi , who has come to talk about his latest work, " Il fatto gatto " (Marsilio, 2026), which he recently presented on a tour across the island and beyond. Giuditta Sireus will be in conversation with the author, and the two will together illustrate the third (mis)adventure of the bookseller Marzio Montecristo and his inseparable cats Marple and Poirot , who, along with the Tuesday Investigators gang, find themselves prisoners on the island of Serpentara during a lavish wedding , interrupted by the inevitable murder they must solve.

Moving straight to November 6th , the protagonist will be councilor Maria Francesca Chiappe , but this time as a writer with her " Uguale per tutti " (Castelvecchi, 2025): a thriller entirely set in the capital, in a gripping mix of stories of migration, social tensions, uncomfortable truths and red herrings , which for the occasion will also be enriched by the voices of the Orosei choir , combining music with the author's words. While concluding, on November 11th , it will be the multifaceted Flavio Soriga with his new " Omicidio a Villapedrosa " (Bompiani, 2026), an investigation into a provincial murder similar to many others but apparently inexplicable , which with noir and psychological overtones does not overlook the loneliness of the two protagonists and the great difficulties of an island far from the spotlight.
