A Carabinieri raid is currently underway in Orosei, where at least seven patrols, supported by a helicopter, have been in action since 6:00 a.m. This morning. The operation is taking place near Via San Francesco, where officers are conducting searches and seizures as part of an investigative effort.
According to initial information, the operation may be related to the investigations carried out just last Tuesday at the Orosei Municipal Registry Office. At that time, at least twenty Carabinieri officers had acquired documentation and kept the offices sealed off for the entire day, preventing public access and also suspending the issuance of identity cards to citizens.
The investigations continued yesterday at the Prefecture offices, where the military acquired documentation relating to the foreign citizens' certifications. It has not been ruled out that this was actually an operation to combat illegal immigration . The details of the operation are currently unknown.
