Major "inter-force" operation, coordinated by the Prefecture of Oristano, against the phenomenon of illegal taxis that transport young people to discos and nightlife venues.

At the end of the checks, two illegal transporters were fined €1,812 each, had their licenses suspended, and the vehicle seized for confiscation . Six traffic violations were also fined, two other licenses and registration certificates were withdrawn, and three vehicles were seized for confiscation.

The extraordinary enforcement service was ordered by Prefect Paolo Corritore following the meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety held in recent days regarding the phenomenon of illegal taxis in the Oristano area, with particular attention to what happens in the capital city, especially on weekends. The Committee for Public Order and Safety has therefore decided to intensify inspections to combat all illicit transport activities that "in addition to distorting competition, can negatively impact user safety," according to a statement from the Prefecture.

Personnel from the Flying Squad and Mobile Squad, the Administrative and Social Police, the Anti-Crime Unit of the Police Headquarters, the Highway Police, the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza and the Local Police of Oristano were involved in the checks which allowed the identification of 66 people (thirteen with police records), 42 vehicles were checked and various irregularities were found for thirteen of them .

This is one of the first operations ordered by the new prefect, who arrived in the city a few weeks ago. Paolo Corritore expressed his "appreciation for the results achieved, emphasizing the effectiveness of the synergy between the various forces involved, committed to ensuring legality and security throughout the area."
