Total uncertainty still reigns regarding the Sartiglia and the use of safety devices . The Provincial Public Safety Commission's meeting at the prefecture today did not provide a final decision . The meeting has been adjourned until Friday, and a consensus is being sought regarding the use of helmets and vests on the track.
"This morning," Mayor Massimiliano Sanna stated, "we presented to the Provincial Commission for the Supervision of Public Entertainment Venues the pro veritate opinion requested by the Municipality from the Barberio-Porcu law firm. This opinion reinforces our belief in the interpretation of the Abodi decree regarding the use of protective equipment by the Sartiglia knights. The Commission president adjourned the meeting until Friday morning for technical reasons."
The municipal administration reiterates its commitment to ensuring the Sartiglia takes place in full compliance with safety regulations, while safeguarding the historical, cultural, and identity-building value of the event.
The Prefecture, for its part, has called for compliance with the Abodi decree . A new meeting will be held on Friday, with the knights and all the people of Oristano waiting in the hope that the Sartiglia can be saved.
