They didn't stop at the police halt , they pressed on the accelerator and ran away.

The chase started, the police officers tried to reach the car which was then abandoned in the Nuraxinieddu countryside in Oristano .

Investigations are underway on the mysterious episode by the police who are trying to identify the two (or perhaps three) who were aboard the car which, after not stopping at the halt, aimed at one of the officers and then fled.
