A red rosette on each horse: it will be a way to say no to violence against women. This year the Sartiglia takes on an even deeper and more symbolic meaning and will launch a social message of great impact. On the initiative of the Municipality of Oristano and Fidapa, with the full collaboration of the knights' association, all 120 horses that will participate in the joust on March 2 and 4 will show off a red rosette, to draw attention to the fight against violence against women, just like the symbol of the red shoes. Small masterpieces created by the skilled hands of Katy Fiori.

Le rosette rosse per la Sartiglia 2025

"We wanted to combine one of the most heartfelt and beloved traditions of our city with a message of strong social impact," observes the mayor of Oristano, Massimiliano Sanna. " The Sartiglia is a moment of great visibility and we believe it is a precious opportunity to raise public awareness on an issue that concerns all of society . The red of the rosettes on the horses will be a tangible sign of closeness and solidarity towards all women who are victims of violence, but also an invitation to fight this social plague, to report and raise awareness."

"Fidapa has always supported women and fought to protect their rights," emphasizes Pupa Tarantini of Fidapa di Oristano. "The Sartiglia is an event that lives off its symbols and we are proud that among these there is also a new one, the red rosette, which will convey a social message of great importance: violence against women must be fought with every possible means, starting with awareness and education . Seeing the red rosettes on the horses of the Sartiglia will be a way to remind everyone that respect and dignity must be the basis of every human relationship. Even more significant is the fact that this message will come, to a large extent, from men, the protagonists of the carousel."
