It will be an important occasion of national and international resonance in one of Europe's most prestigious opera houses. From Tuesday, July 28th to Friday, July 31st, the Polifonica Arborense will be touring Palermo as part of Incontri Corali Palermo 2026, the major international festival dedicated to choral music organized by InChorus – International Choral Federation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Palermo and the Teatro Massimo.

The festival will bring together hundreds of choristers from various Italian and international backgrounds in the Sicilian capital, transforming the famous theater into a meeting place and forum for some of the most significant contemporary choral movements. The event will take place on Thursday, July 30th, starting at 9:00 PM, when the Oristano-based ensemble will take to the stage in the Sala Grande of the Teatro Massimo, as part of the festival's official program. Conducted by Maestro Alessio Carrus, the Polifonica Arborense will present a program dedicated to sacred repertoire from the 19th and20th centuries, featuring works by Italo Bianchi, Gabriel Fauré, Charles Gounod, Alessandro Borroni, and Jean Pagot.

The choir will be joined by director Alessia Gallus, who will alternate conducting, bassFrancesco Musinu, and pianist Lorenzo Mandis, all of whom will enrich an evening that will highlightthe diverse expressive nuances of the Arborense ensemble. The invitation to the event confirms the choir's longstanding commitment, making it one of the most active and respected choral groups in the region. The Palermo tour will also provide an important opportunity for artistic growth and exchange, thanks to the workshops, meetings, and training activities planned during the event, which will take place from July 27th to 30th and will involve approximately 1,500 choristers from numerous choral groups. The concert on July 30th at the Teatro Massimo will therefore be asignificant moment for the Polifonica Arborense and, at the same time, a showcase for Sardinian choral music at one of themost important events of the Italian summer music season.
