His favorite target was parked cars. He specialized in car thefts, but the serial thief was apprehended by the Carabinieri of the Oristano Company, who reported a 37-year-old unemployed man from Oristano for theft, receiving stolen goods, and using stolen credit cards.

The serial thefts began on July 31st on Via Sardegna, when a total of €1,200 was stolen. The unemployed man managed to open a parked car and steal a wallet. The incident was noticed by a Carabinieri marshal who, suspicious of the man's movements, alerted the police station and immediately began chasing him. The 37-year-old headed towards Via Canepa, where he recovered an electric scooter and disappeared.

The vehicle's owner subsequently reported the theft of €650. Furthermore, he was receiving constant notifications from the bank for various withdrawals made at ATMs in Piazza Roma, so all his credit cards were blocked. A few days later, a citizen went to the Carabinieri station in Oristano to report the theft of his backpack containing documents and a debit card from the van parked on Via Giovanni XXIII. In this case, too, the victim had received notifications of purchases made at a tobacconist's with his credit card.

Shortly thereafter, another report was filed for a theft carried out in the same manner: a purse and credit cards stolen from a car parked near the museum, and other purchases from a clothing store made into the victim's account. Finally, on August 8th, the final act occurred: a person reported to the Carabinieri the theft of a MacBook from a car parked in the train station forecourt.

It was precisely this latest heist that brought about the breakthrough. The computer, equipped with a location tracking system, was detected in a house in the city. The Carabinieri immediately launched a raid, finding two men already known to law enforcement as specializing in car thefts. During the search, they found and seized a MacBook, a Bancoposta card, three T-shirts, and two sports shorts that had been purchased using a card stolen from a car parked near the Museum. Thanks to CCTV footage and the Marshal's identification, it was possible to identify the man, believed to be responsible for the various thefts and receiving stolen goods. The 37-year-old will also be reported to the Prefecture for drug use; one gram of cocaine and 0.3 grams of heroin were found in his home.
