Oristano: Over thirty abandoned cars and motorcycles removed

Abandoned cars on the outskirts. Motorcycle wrecks scattered across the city and countryside: true monuments to neglect and decay. The local police in Oristano have said enough is enough, and in recent days they launched a major operation that led to the seizure and removal of 30 abandoned vehicles.

The operation, coordinated by the local police's Roads and Accidents Office in collaboration with the Department of the Environment, aims to restore order and protect the environment from potential, often overlooked, sources of pollution. Leaks of oil, coolant, and battery acid can pose a serious threat to the soil.

The traffic police, led by Commander Gianni Uras, carried out a series of thorough checks and, after determining that the vehicles did not meet the necessary requirements for parking on the road, ordered their removal. The vehicles were then taken to specialized centers for disposal.

The operation is part of a broader monitoring and redevelopment effort carried out by the Municipality through collaboration between the local police department and the Department of the Environment. Inspections are ongoing.
