At San Martino in Oristano , a CT scan purchased in 2019 has not yet been installed , and now with the breakdowns of the machinery at San Martino itself and at Mastino di Bosa , users from the province of Oristano are being diverted to Nuoro and Cagliari for diagnostic tests .
This was reported by the M5s group leader Alessandro Solinas , who presented a question to the Regional Council.
«The activity of the Radiology department of San Martino di Oristano cannot continuously stop because the machinery is subject to continuous breakdowns. Certainly in the case of Oristano the one in use is an obsolete machine , and we can say this with certainty since the new CT intended for San Martino, and purchased in 2019 at a cost of 800 thousand euros, was never installed because it took years to identify suitable rooms to house the machinery ", writes the Five Star Movement in a statement.
Already a year ago the M5s group leader had presented a question on the matter to President Solinas and the Health Councilor.
The CT scans purchased in 2019 through the same procedure for the Santissima Trinità in Cagliari and for the hospital in Olbia have been installed, but it has not yet been possible to install the one destined for Oristano, continues Solinas: «We cannot wait any longer for yet another failure sends the hospital's activity and the demands of an entire Province into a tailspin. Every day of delay can lead to the epilogue we are witnessing: a territory abandoned to itself where an adequate level of healthcare services cannot be guaranteed to citizens ."
