The objects that were usually sold at Christmas, in the market in the historic center of Oristano, will remain in the cellar. Efisio Manai, 80 years old, a hobbyist, for the first time will not be able to participate in the event with his jewelry. Costume jewelry that has always been very successful.
"When I went to the Town Hall to get information about participating in the Christmas market and using the wooden house I have used for several years, I was told that no space will be granted to hobbyists," Manai says. "But also that only artisans registered with the Chamber of Commerce will be able to participate in the market."
Efisio Manai, a resident of the city, does not hide his disappointment: «Thanks to the Christmas market, my wife and I have always managed to bring home a significant nest egg, a way to supplement our pension. This time, however, all of this is denied to us. Why is this happening? I have already asked for information on the presence of hobbyists at the Sartiglia and they have not yet given me any information on the matter».
Today Manai will ask for a meeting with the mayor of Oristano Massimiliano Sanna: «I would like to understand why our category is excluded».
