The nose of Crest, the Fiamme Gialle drug-sniffing dog, was not wrong. And it led his colleagues from the Oristano judicial police straight to uncover a large stash of drugs in a house on Via Ales. Inside were hidden 80 doses of LSD, 80 grams of cocaine, a kilo of hashish, about seven hundred grams of marijuana. And so Felicino Scanu, 40 years old, originally from Simaxis, was arrested.

The blitz by the Guardia di Finanza men, with the support of the canine units and the Cagliari currency sniffer dogs, started at dawn on Friday . The soldiers were busy with broader checks and it was the drug sniffer dog that sniffed out the narcotic that was immediately seized. Scanu, already known to the police, claimed that the drugs were for personal use but the reasons do not convince the investigators and further investigations are underway to reconstruct any connections with the Oristano drug dealing area.

The 40-year-old, meanwhile, with his lawyer Carla Pinna appeared in court this morning for the summary trial . Judge Serena Corrias validated the arrest at the request of the prosecutor Sara Ghiani, then released Scanu, ordering him to remain in Simaxis and to sign in at the Carabinieri station.
