Party in Oristano for the new centenary. Maria Giovanna Sanna crossed the finish line of a century of life and, as a souvenir on behalf of the community, the mayor Massimiliano Sanna gave her a plaque.
Maria Giovanna was born in Sedilo on February 1, 1924 and at the age of 15 she moved to Sassari where she joined her husband Luigi Salis, obriere of the Gremio dei Muratori, in preparations for many editions of the Candelieri festival. The couple had two daughters, Fidalma and Pina.
Widowed, the centenarian has lived in Oristano since 2012 and today has grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Devoted to Saint Anthony, she is very good at cooking, «she has golden hands in the kitchen», say her daughters, «her seadas are spectacular».
