A precious gift for patients who will now be more comfortable during the administration of therapy. Four new chemotherapy chairs were donated today by the provincial section of the Italian Association against Leukemia and Lymphoma to the Oncology-Hematology department of the San Martino hospital in Oristano. These are latest-generation, motorized chairs with remote controls and footrests to allow the most comfortable position to be reached with minimal effort.
Present at the donation ceremony were the general director of the ASL 5 of Oristano Angelo Serusi, the administrative director Rosalba Muscas, the director of social-health services Alessandro Baccoli, the director of the Oncology-Hematology department Luigi Curreli and the provincial president of AIL Paolo Casula together with several volunteers of the association.
"We sincerely thank AIL for this gesture of generosity that will allow our facility to offer patients a better service", Serusi stated, "The oncohematological activity remains one of the priorities for our company, we are making every effort possible to strengthen it". A thank you to AIL also from the director of the Oncohematology department Luigi Curreli: "The four armchairs will replace as many seats that are now worn out, which we needed to replace. We expressed this need to AIL, which took action promptly", explained Curreli, "In total we will have 16 chemotherapy armchairs, distributed across four rooms, to which are added two beds and a stretcher, for a total of 19 chemotherapy stations".
"The task of AIL is to support the Hematology structure: this is where the desire to make this donation was born", declared the president of the provincial section of AIL Paolo Casula.
