He had the uniform of the Arma sewn on him. So much so that, despite having been retired for some time, a year ago he had managed to stop an armed criminal during a bank robbery. Francesco Ruggiu was like that, always operational and at the service of others. Until a merciless disease struck him and in little more than three months took him away.

Francesco Ruggiu, 62, was originally from Bosa. He began his career in the Arma in Ancona, then moved to Oristano where he worked for several years at the Investigative Unit led by Colonel Luciano Gavelli, then at the Rud in Viale Repubblica, and finally at the Judicial Police Unit where he followed important investigations, always having the utmost esteem and trust from the magistrates.

In February of a year ago his intervention was decisive in foiling a robbery in the Santa Giusta bank. Tomorrow many colleagues and friends will gather around his wife Paola and three children.
