It would have been one of the many “spectacular” but not serious accidents, with a car overturned in a ditch and no injuries. Then the driver, who had evidently overdone it with alcohol, took care of livening up the situation: he lashed out at the tow truck operator and the local police officers.

In the end, the man – a 49-year-old from Nurachi – returned home with two charges: one for drunk driving and one for resisting arrest.

The accident occurred along the Provincial Road 70 in the direction of Fenosu . The driver suddenly lost control of his Fiat Panda and ended up in a ditch. The alarm was raised immediately, local police officers (led by Commander Gianni Uras) and 118 operators arrived on site but the 49-year-old refused treatment, then tested positive for alcohol. The police then started the procedures to seize the car but at that point the driver got upset and started threatening the tow truck operator . Despite the officers' warnings, he continued and even attacked them, resisting. In the end he was taken to the headquarters in Via Carmine and then reported.
