There was also a touch of Oristano at the "Roman Woman Ambassador Award," an award dedicated to women who, through their example, make Rome a more just, innovative, and supportive city.
Adriana Muscas, a doctor from Oristano and a Rotary governor who has always been actively involved in social work, is among the 23 "Ambassadors." The ceremony took place yesterday evening at Palazzo Valentini, headquarters of the Metropolitan City of Rome, as part of an initiative promoted by the European Center for Cultural Studies to mark November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The Roman Woman Ambassador award was given to women who, through their commitment and authentic testimony, have contributed to making Rome a more vibrant, supportive, and aware city . Stories of resilience, determination, and success after much hard work. An example of how female strength can positively impact the entire community.
Among the awardees was Adriana Muscas, Governor of District 2080, which includes Rome, Lazio, and Sardinia.
"I am truly honored," said Adriana Muscas during the ceremony. "Rome has welcomed me and chosen me. Rotary used to be all men, but today many women hold important positions. We are doing a lot for women; we are going to schools to teach young people about gender violence. I dedicate this award to all the women in Rotary and to the victims of violence."
Awards were also given to Elena Presti, Laura Nardecchia, Cinzia Rossi, Paola Di Domizio, the Dress for Success Rome Association, Stella Giorlandino, Deborah Impieri, Maria Carla Ciccioriccio, the Association of Women in the Vatican, Francesca Canella, Elisabetta De Marco, Veronica De Angelis, Brunilde Gambaro Siciliano, Nagla Augelli, Patrizia Porfiri, Giulia Lapertosa, Rosa Razzino, Silvana Campisi, Monia Cupellini, Lorella Di Biase, and Veronica Sciscione.
