Sardinia has a new centenary : it is Ulderico Pibi.

Born in Oristano on August 22, 1925 , he was celebrated today in his home in Via Dante Alighieri by his sons Pierluigi and Francesco, his granddaughter Nicoletta, other relatives and friends and by the mayor Massimiliano Sanna who presented him with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the municipal administration.

Married to Deodata Tiana (who died in 2012), Ulderico Pibi worked for the Land Reclamation Consortium for 40 years and, as a surveyor, collaborated on the design of the new dam on the Tirso.

A timekeeper and track and field official, he served as a municipal representative on the board of directors of the Eleonora d'Arborea retirement home.

He also boasts a very long history of activity with the workers' mutual aid society: his membership card is dated 1946.

To celebrate the association's oldest member, Soms President Luca Mannai and Vice President Oscar Migliorini also wanted to pay homage to him with a commemorative plaque.
