They attempted to enforce a custody order for multiple convictions, and in the end, the father ended up in trouble, while those who were supposed to be in jail escaped.
The incident occurred Saturday night in Sant'Efisio. The Carabinieri intercepted Fabrizio Manis near his father, Gianni,'s house and attempted to restrain him while he was climbing over the garden wall, following the restraining order. At that point, the 43-year-old's father also intervened and attempted to stop the Carabinieri's action. This attempt led Gianni Manis to raise his hands and injure one of the officers, fracturing his hand. The fight gave the boy plenty of time to escape the house, and indeed, by the time the Carabinieri managed to subdue Gianni Manis, his son had disappeared without a trace.
The father was then taken to the police station on Via Loffredo, charged with aiding and abetting, as well as assault and resisting arrest. Yesterday morning, Gianni Manis, represented by the lawyer Fabio Costa, was arraigned.
Judge Paola Bussu ordered him to be prohibited from leaving Oristano and to sign in between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM (Prosecutor Daniela Muntoni had requested the arrests). Since he is undergoing probation from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, the judge authorized him, but he must notify the police both when he leaves and when he returns. Fabrizio Manis, however, has disappeared.
