A dramatic turn of events in Oristano: in less than 24 hours, the mayor has overhauled and reconstituted the council, changing two positions, and attempting to strengthen the majority. Out go Ivano Cuccu (Oristano al Centro) and Carmen Murru (UDC), and in go Giulia Murgia. This swift move, coming after Oristano al Centro's withdrawal from the coalition, restores political balance in the Council.

The mayor of Oristano, Massimiliano Sanna, has signed the decree appointing the new City Council. The executive committee includes: Maria Bonaria Zedda (deputy mayor with responsibility for the environment, hygiene and decorum, public and private green spaces, environmental policing, and cemetery services); Simone Prevete (culture, participatory organizations, tourism, public education, cultural heritage, budget, planning, and personnel); Valentina de Seneen (productive activities, markets and market areas, special economic zones); Antonio Franceschi (sports, sports facilities, youth policies, sports tourism, entertainment); Giulia Murgia (social services, Plus, housing policies, associations, equal opportunities); Gianfranco Licheri (public works, technological services, maintenance, toponymy, hamlets, villages, and neighborhoods).

Sanna retains responsibility for the Municipal Police and maintains interim responsibility for urban planning and land protection, residential construction, civic uses, roads, heritage, energy, transportation, and parking.

"The executive branch was formed following a serious and thorough political discussion, initiated in recent weeks to assess the strength of the majority and the administrative outlook from now until the end of the council term," the mayor stated. "The new structure is the result of a necessary synthesis to ensure stability, programmatic coherence, and decision-making capacity during this particularly delicate period. In this context , I deemed it appropriate to proceed with a rotation involving Ivano Cuccu and Carmen Murru. I extend my sincere thanks to both of them for their commitment, expertise, and the results achieved. This decision is not based on the work done, which I recognize and appreciate, but solely on the need to reconstruct a more solid and functional political framework for the continuation of the administrative process."

And again: " I acknowledge the decision of the Oristano al Centro council group to leave the majority," Sanna adds. "It is a political choice I respect, but it has inevitably required a comprehensive reflection on the balance of power within the executive branch and the tools to ensure continuity and stability in the city's governance. This is the context for the ongoing dialogue with Sardegna al Centro 20Venti, which is evaluating the possibility of directly contributing to the administrative process. The goal remains to strengthen the majority around a shared agenda, in the exclusive interest of the city and with the desire to fulfill the commitments made to the citizens."
