A barn caught fire in the Orgosolo countryside, killing 25 sheep. The blaze broke out around 2:30 PM in the Pandelavai area. The Nuoro Fire Department responded to the scene.
Once firefighters arrived at the scene, they began extinguishing and securing the area to prevent the fire from spreading to other structures or surrounding vegetation. Despite their rapid response, there was nothing they could do for the animals.
The fire killed 25 sheep that were inside the barn at the time. Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters began a criminal investigation to try to reconstruct the cause of the blaze.
Initial investigations, however, have revealed no evidence to suggest arson. Investigations will continue to clarify the precise circumstances and possible causes of the fire.
