A specimen of kestrel was rescued this morning, around 8.30, by the Orani Carabinieri .

The animal, a protected species , wriggled on the asphalt of state road 389 bis , between Orani and Nuoro due to an injury to its tail . Unable to fly, the military picked him up from the ground and took him to the Nuoro Forestry Corps Station for first aid.

In the coming days, the kestrel will be hospitalized in a specialized veterinary facility in Siniscola .
