The Municipality of Ploaghe will open the doors of its treasures on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May on the occasion of the Open Monuments event.

«This year too, Ploaghe renews its participation in the event with enthusiasm and desire to relive and recognize its cultural heritage - declares the mayor, Carlo Sotgiu - thanks to the precious collaboration of various volunteers, and through the eyes and the story of special tourist guides, as the students of our comprehensive school always know how to be."

Thanks to the support of the Municipality, Istituto Comprensivo S. Satta – A. Fais, Municipal Library, Proloco, Parish of San Pietro Apostolo and volunteers from the Universal Civil Service, next weekend it will be possible to visit 7 monuments including places of worship and art sites and places closely connected to traditions, habits and customs of the Logudoro centre.

The sites open, in addition to the church of the Madonna di Valverde, are: Sa Domo Piaghesa, former Capuchin Convent and Church of S. Antonio da Padova, Oratory of Santa Croce, Oratory of the Rosario and Pinacoteca G. Spano, ancient cemetery and church of San Matteo. The monuments can be visited for free on Saturdays from 3.30pm to 6pm and on Sundays from 9.30am to 1pm and from 3.30pm to 6pm.

Visits to churches will be suspended during specific religious functions at 11am on Sunday 19 May in the Oratory of Santa Croce, where the Holy Mass will be held.
