He went out onto the roof of his house to check the tiles and check for any leaks, but when he returned he was unable to retrace his steps in the opposite direction through the hatch he had accessed.

For this reason, the man, in his eighties, was rescued by police and firefighters on Via Tempio, in Nuoro. When the alarm was raised , state police officers intervened, reaching him on the roof hatch and calming him down while awaiting the arrival of the firefighters. Once on scene, the team used a ladder truck to reach the victim, bringing him safely back to the ground in collaboration with the officers.

Emergency medical personnel were also on site to assess the man's condition after his recovery. The operation concluded without any significant issues thanks to the coordination between the teams involved.
