Olbia, tourists with stones stolen from Fordongianus discovered at the port

Two Tuscan tourists, about to board the ferry from Olbia to Livorno, were surprised with a large load of stones taken from the Fordongianus area.

The couple stumbled upon security checks by the Sardinia Sea Port System Authority on Isola Bianca.

The stones, about twenty, were in the trunk of the car and were reported to the territorial operational section of the Customs Agency for the relevant activities and appropriate checks relating to their real origin. In fact, it cannot be ruled out that some stones, precisely because of their shape, were taken from archaeological areas.

The robbery foiled today is the second theft since the beginning of the year.
