"I would do everything I've done again; I don't regret a thing." Olbia Mayor Settimo Nizzi's assessment of his year in office is a positive one. It's a rating that surpasses even the one he gave himself for 2024, which saw him give himself a 10 with honors for his commitment and the projects he's completed in the city.

He made this statement during the usual end-of-year press conference, where the mayor listed the projects completed and those underway, while also emphasizing what still remains to be done. "I expected that by Christmas we would have the green light for the Hydrogeological Risk Plan. I would have loved to give this news to the citizens of Olbia, but we still have nothing, except news of the funding, and that's already a good thing," Nizzi explained, emphasizing that the environmental impact assessment process began a year and a half ago, "but bureaucratic delays have led to these delays."

Among the projects he would have liked to carry out is the photovoltaic system above the town hall: "We were blocked by the Superintendency," he specifies, "but that was a dream of mine that I wanted to make come true."

Among the mayor's dreams is also that of the University: "We've managed to begin bringing the University to Olbia. Renovation work on the former Palazzo Giordo is now beginning , and in the coming years," he announces, "we will see this project fully realized."

And then there's the new sports hall on Via Mosca and the extensive renovations within the city's schools. With eighteen months to go until the municipal elections, Nizzi, blocked by the two-term limit, doesn't reveal his cards, but reveals that he already has a candidate in mind for his successor. No name yet, but he already has a profile: "He's from Olbia. And I only choose politicians, not technicians. I'll summarize and the name," he clarifies, "will then be submitted to the coalition."
