A new urban park, with attached sports facilities and cycle/pedestrian paths, inclusive and multifunctional: this is the new redevelopment project for the city, approved yesterday by the Council, to return to the community an area that has long been at the mercy of illegal campers and affected by the wild abandonment of waste.

In Piazzale Costante Girardengo, in the area between the airport and Olbia Mare, a green and safe space will be built, fenced, video-monitored and well-lit, sustainable, made with eco-compatible materials, and planted with native species to promote biodiversity.

Inside, a pump track for bicycle and scooter enthusiasts and a skatepark with technical standards that allow the organization of competitive and internationally renowned sporting events. "The administration is taking all necessary actions to address waste abandonment and create spaces that are increasingly usable by citizens: effectively combating degradation means preventing the improper use of urban areas through redevelopment that restores safety and decorum", said the mayor, Settimo Nizzi.
