Alarm was raised late yesterday afternoon in Olbia, in the Rudalza district, due to a fire that broke out in a tool shed where oil and acetylene cylinders were also stored.

A team of firefighters responded to the scene, also having to deal with the flames spreading to the surrounding Mediterranean scrub.

After extinguishing the fire, workers spent about two hours cooling the cylinders and securing the area. No injuries were reported.

Members of the Forestry Corps and Civil Protection were also on site to clear the vegetation.
