Fires lit, the Mussel Festival begins , the eagerly awaited event in the program of Sa Festa manna de Mesu Maju , today at the Fausto Noce park .

Almost a kilometer of queues of curious people, tourists and enthusiasts ready to taste the mussels grown in the gulf of the city , offered free of charge by the San Simplicio Celebration Committee.

Fifty quintals of mussels, cooked rigorously in the marinara style , seasoned with thirty kilos of garlic, as much parsley, oil and chili pepper as required, in two pans with a diameter of two meters, eight people at the stove, fifty at the distribution of the black gold and ninety at the cleaning of the mussels, which began this morning at 7 and lasted six hours.

Tonight, at 10pm, on the stage of the urban park Raf will be in concert, engaged this afternoon in the sound check which was the background to the traditional festival which, also in this edition of the celebrations in honor of San Simplicio, confirmed its attractiveness.
