A 53-year-old man from Olbia, Fabrizio Masala, was sentenced to twenty months in prison for the crimes of stalking, threats and possession of flammable liquid and acid.
The sentence of the investigating judge of Tempio, Marcella Pinna , concerns an episode that occurred on the outskirts of Olbia on 18 October 2024 .
Masala, defended by criminal lawyer Paolo Spano , was found responsible for a dramatic chase (with almost successful ramming) to the detriment of his ex-partner .
The prosecutor Mauro Lavra had asked for the man to be sentenced to three years in prison . Masala chased his ex in a car, on board he had highly corrosive substances, gasoline, alcohol, knives and a wooden club.
The indictment describes the facts. The man shows up in front of his ex's house in Telti wearing latex gloves and holding a knife, beats and terrorizes the woman . Then he chases the victim in his car, up to the outskirts of Olbia, trying to run her off the road.
He was arrested by the Carabinieri in a service area . Even under house arrest he continued to threaten the victim. The persecuted woman, a civil party in the trial and represented by the lawyer Cristina Cherchi , will be compensated.
