Thirty-five counterfeit watches, with a total value of 50 thousand euros, and four electric bikes, two of which were stolen from Austrian tourists on holiday in Gallura, with a value of around 10 thousand euros each, were recovered by the Carabinieri of the Porto Rotondo station with the help of their colleagues from the Olbia mobile radio unit.
The stolen goods and counterfeit watches were kept inside a container in a field in the locality of Rudalza, in Olbia.
The investigations, which led to the identification and reporting of a man with a criminal record for theft and receiving stolen goods, were started by two tourists from Austria who reported the theft of their two electric bicycles on Monday evening. The vehicles were equipped with a geolocation system that allowed the military to discover where they had been kept.
The two bikes were returned to the owners who had filed a complaint, while the rest of the goods found were seized.
