After the 30 km/h speed limit imposed throughout the municipal territory of Olbia, the administration led by Settimo Nizzi aims to make the quality of life of citizens increasingly "clean" and high, with a program for the energy transition that will see the construction of 42 photovoltaic systems on as many parking lots in municipal areas and the installation of panels for renewable energy on all buildings owned by the Municipality, for an investment of approximately 21 million euros.

The work will start next summer, with the first system in the buildings that house the municipal offices in the historic center and with the coverage of the first parking area in the Basa area and in via Angelo Tancredi, in front of the shopping centers. To carry out this project, which aims to make Olbia an increasingly green city, the Municipality has created a renewable energy community that aims to reduce CO2 emissions and obtain a lower cost for the energy that will be produced . Private citizens will be able to install the systems on their roofs, as well as on all the warehouses in the industrial area. In addition, the establishment of a Foundation has been started, with the municipal administration at the center, which will evaluate the requests of the various private companies that want to access the CER and therefore install new systems.

"The entire project was approved by the Council today," explained Mayor Nizzi. "We will soon start the call for tenders for the design and construction of the first energy production plant. In all the schools in the city, this year, the boilers have already been eliminated and replaced with zero-pollution systems, some methane gas and others with photovoltaic electric systems. We have been working for many years to ensure that Olbia goes in the right direction, which is to reduce pollution, including noise pollution, and increase the well-being of its citizens . For this reason, we will continue to constantly monitor air quality. From good intentions, we have moved on to concrete facts. I would like to emphasize that all the trees that will be removed from the parking lots will be replanted, if possible, or we will proceed with the planting of new trees with a ratio of 1 to 10."
