The trial held in Tempio against the alleged members of a Sardinian-Albanian drug trafficking organization active in Olbia until 2018 ended with heavy sentences. The judges (a panel presided over by magistrate Caterina Interlandi ) accepted the requests of the Cagliari DDA prosecutor, Rossana Allieri, even though – as requested by the FISE – the charge of criminal association was dropped .
The alleged ringleader, Albanian Malo Ramazan, defended by criminal lawyer Giampaolo Murrighile, was sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison for the possession and transportation of cocaine. Giovanni Biosa , from Olbia, was sentenced to seven years in prison. The judges found Natalino Aisoni, from Monti, responsible for the possession and transportation of cocaine, and sentenced him to ten years in prison. Albanian Arjan Sagajeva received an eight-year prison sentence, and Senegalese Omar Ndiaye (defended by lawyer Cristina Cherchi) received a six-year sentence. Skender Jousufi, also Albanian and considered one of the leading figures in the alleged organization, was sentenced to nine years in prison.
The judges of the Tempio Pausania Court also accepted the prosecutor Allieri's thesis for Loreta Asara, from Olbia, who was sentenced to four years in prison.
Another prominent figure in the trial was Lucio Baltolu, from Alaïa, who was sentenced to five years and six months in prison. Baltolu, defended by criminal lawyer Angela Corda, was subsequently investigated as part of other sensitive DDA cases. The Tempio Tribunal sentenced Christian Gusinu to two years (suspended sentence). Stefano Pinna was acquitted on grounds of non-compliance.
Operation Seaway, conducted by the Carabinieri of Olbia, led to the arrest of 17 people. According to the DDA, the cocaine was processed to alter its color and "structure" (coca negra or black cocaine).
