Nicola Vargas is the new health director of the Ogliastra Local Health Authority. He replaces Alessandro Baccoli, who was appointed director of the Sanluri Social Health District, within the Medio Campidano Local Health Authority.

"The arrival of Nicola Vargas represents a significant asset for the Ogliastra ASL," explains General Manager Andrea Fabbo. "His experience and expertise, both clinical and organizational and managerial, will be invaluable in addressing the challenges facing our organization. I would also like to thank Alessandro Baccoli for his dedication and work, wishing him every success in his new role."

Nicola Vargas, born in 1964, is a surgeon from Aversa, in the province of Caserta. He has over 25 years of experience in the National Health Service, with a particular professional curriculum in geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.

Before joining the Ogliastra Local Health Authority, he served as director of the Geriatrics Unit in Avellino. His career path was marked by the integration between the hospital and the community, particularly through the creation of dedicated care pathways for older patients.
