Nurachi, the second installment of the Paolo Zucca festival kicks off.

In Nurachi, the island's cinema is still being discussed. On Friday, January 30th, the second installment of the film series dedicated to director Paolo Zucca, curated by expert Paolo Licheri, will take place.

Starting at 5:30 PM, the library will screen the 2024 film "The Gospel According to Mary," directed by Paolo Zucca and based on the novel by Barbara Alberti. The film reinterprets the figure of the Madonna, played by Benedetta Porcaroli.

Set in an archaic Sardinia that evokes the Holy Land, the film portrays Maria as a young rebel eager for freedom, education and to be the architect of her own destiny, challenging religious dogma.

"This special event," the Municipality announced, "is part of the entertainment, film, and cultural activities of the Anziani al Centro project, an initiative open to the entire population from December to March, which promotes social gatherings and cultural enjoyment."

The event is organized by the municipal administration, the D'Altra Parte association, and the library.
