It will be a return to the helm of the Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office. The plenum of the Superior Council of the Judiciary unanimously voted to appoint Daniele Rosa as the new chief prosecutor.

Rosa will replace Patrizia Castaldini, who was transferred to Trieste at the beginning of last year. Until she takes office in the coming weeks, the duties of Chief Prosecutor will continue to be performed by Acting Andrea Jacopo Ghironi.

The application deadline closed last June, and the CSM's special commission received four applications. Of the candidates, only one served in Sardinia: Nicola Giua Marassi, deputy prosecutor in Cagliari. Currently deputy prosecutor in Livorno, Daniele Rosa is well versed in the Sardinian region, and the Barbagia region in particular.

In the past, he has already held the position of public prosecutor in Nuoro since 2004 and then in Lanusei since 2009, dealing with high-profile investigations, including the double homicide of Manasuddas, which took place in the countryside of Oliena.

Then he left for Tuscany as a deputy, first in Livorno in 2013, then in Siena in 2018, and again in Livorno in 2022. After a 20-year career in the prosecution service, the appointment by the Plenum as chief prosecutor marks a return to Sardinia for Rosa, who is now called to lead the Nuoro Prosecutor's Office.
